Sixers at Kings: Can the Kings Keep the Court Dry?

Kings-76ers-Basketbal_Inte

The Philadelphia 76ers visit the Sacramento Kings tonight. It's a late start, with it being 10:30 pm ET so, if you can, get a nap in. Based off of the last game for both teams, this may not end well for the Sixers. The Kings came from behind to win their game against the Timberwolves while the Sixers blew a big lead against the Suns.

Last time these two teams met…they didn't meet. The Sixers and Kings were going to play in Wells Fargo Center, but the court was way too wet so the game was postponed. So this is the second but first meeting between the two teams. Right? No, wait, it's the first time they will play a game, unless they played slip-n-slide on the WFC court. Right? Sure.

Yes, the Kings are on a 3 game winning streak and all of their wins in the streak have come from a 4th quarter comeback. That's not an ideal way to win games, but a win is a win. Demarcus Cousins had 32 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists. Anthony Tolliver also added 17 points. The Kings made a season high 15 3-pointers.

The Sixers led by as much at 14 against the Suns and had the lead going into the 4th quarter, but couldn't hold on. The Sixers eventually trailed by 14 in the 4th quarter and finally lost the game by 7 points. Joel Embiid scored 27 points. Sergio Rodriguez scored 21 points. Both the Sixers and Suns shot over 50 percent from the floor, so the Sixers lost this one thanks to defense issues. The Sixers also lost the rebounding battle 28-43. That's…not good. But yeah, the entire Sixers starting lineup shot well, with the worst FG percentage being 50.0. Jahlil Okafor shot the best at 75 percent, although Nerlens Noel shot 100 percent (it was only on one shot) off of the bench.

So now, the Kings and Sixers face each other. As mentioned before, the Kings are on a streak of coming from behind to win. The Sixers have blown big leads this season. So, this combination seems like bad news for the Sixers. This would be a great step for them to win against a team on a streak like this.

The Real Questions:
  • Can the Kings keep the court dry? It sure would be some kind of crazy if there was a court issue of any kind. Maybe it's fate these two teams don't play. The universe could really be trying to say something. It will come to light tonight.
  • Will the East Coast fans survive an OT? NBA games usually go 2.5 hours. So, this game would end at 1 am. Wait…1 am. Yup. Can fans stay up? Will writers of articles like these be able to get a recap up in time? Will it even matter?
  • Can The Process destroy Cousins? Of course he can. He's The Process. The key word is "can" he. But will he? "Will" he? Probably not. Embiid is going to have his hands full, as all other big men would agree (all other honest big men). But two big men who can score from anywhere on the court sounds really interesting. They are projected to start at the same position so early on there should be some action.
