The Philadelphia 76ers lost to the Detroit Pistons 113-96. A close first quarter and shaky second quarter led to a tragic third quarter. It really was a fun first quarter for the Sixers. It was. It really was!

The second quarter was…it was alright! It was just fine!

Then the 3rd quarter.

Jahlil Okafor started off quick with 6 points on 3-3 shooting. Sixers had a slow start but got back in the game and led most of the second quarter. The game was close, with the Pistons leading as much as 7 and the Sixers leading as much as 5. There were four ties and two lead changes. With less than 2 minutes to go in the first half, the Pistons cracked open a 9 point lead and that's how much they led after the first half.

The Sixers did take care of the ball, only having 4 turnovers in the first half. The problem they had was rebounding. They had 19. The Pistons had 32. Yeah…no. Both teams shot horribly from 3-point range. Both teams made only one 3 pointer and the Sixers shot 7.1 percent while the Pistons shot 8.3 percent. Just…just horrible.

The 3rd quarter started out poorly for the Sixers. In their first four posessions, they turned the ball over twice. It's like they remembered they were the worst team in the league at taking care of the ball. Meanwhile, the Pistons couldn't miss from the field. Yes, they went 5-5 before the Sixers called timeout. By this time, the Sixers were down by 15. They trailed by as much as 26 in the quarter. They ended the quarter down by 22.

The combination of poor defense and sad offense did the Sixers in.

The fourth quarter was more of the same, really. It was really cute they made the score seem much closer than what it really was. So cute. That garbage time stuff really does wonders, doesn't it? Like facial cream making a 90 year old look 70. STILL OLD. STILL GOT BLOWN OUT. You ain't fooling anyone, Sixers.

At this point, if not earlier, Joel Embiid's absence has been felt. He is truly a difference maker for this team. Embiid does everything on the court and so the team is missing so much from their budding superstar.

Okafor finished with 16 points. Dario Saric had 13 points and 7 rebounds. Andre Drummond once again destroyed the Sixers. He had 16 points and 17 rebounds. Marcus Morris led the Pistons in scoring with 19 points.

The Sixers come back home to face the Spurs so this losing streak may continue. Wednesday, 7 pm.
