The Philadelphia 76ers hit the court tonight for their second preseason game. They'll be facing the Washington Wizards at the Wells Fargo Center with Joel Embiid and Dario Saric set to make their home debuts.

As reported yesterday, Joel Embiid will be on the same minutes restriction in this one as he was against the Boston Celtics. He looked good against the Celtics and, while it would be nice to see him play starter minutes, there's no rush. Embiid played 12 minutes and 57 seconds against Boston, scoring six points to go along with four rebounds and two blocks.

The Sixers last played on Tuesday, beating the Celtics 92-82. They trailed big early on but managed to jump back in it and make it a fun game. From a scoring standpoint, they were led by Brandon Paul with 15 points. TJ McConnell also added 13 points while Saric, Jerami Grant and Richaun Holmes each contributed with 10 points a piece. Going back to Paul, he scored those 15 points on 60 percent shooting from the field as well as 50 percent from beyond the arc in under 13 minutes. That's a good sign for the rookie trying to make the team.

Led by John Wall and Bradley Beal, when he's actually able to play, the Wizards come off of a disappointing 2015-16 season. This upcoming season, with new coach Scott Brooks, they look to make a run in the playoffs. They're hoping for a big season from Otto Porter and the new players they have assembled.

The Wizards lost their preseason opener against the Miami Heat. With John Wall out with injury, as well as newcomers Marcus Thornton and Ian Mahinmi being hurt, the Wizards struggled, especially at containing Hassan Whiteside. The Wizards were led by Kelly Oubre as he scored 16 points off the bench. Newcomer Trey Burke, who is likely the full-time starter in Wall's absence, scored 14 points and had five assists. They couldn't contain Hassan Whiteside, who had 20 points and 13 rebounds while shooting a blistering 75 percent from the field.
