Flyers Fantasy Draft Results

By Kevin Durso, Sports Talk Philly editor

On Friday, we published Episode 5 of the Flyerdelphia Podcast. As is typically the case in late July and early August, the hockey world isn’t buzzing with new developments, and given the Flyers offseason checklist, a lot of their work ahead of training camp has already been completed.

So on our latest episode, we started a look back at 50 years of Flyers hockey by looking at some of the greatest players in franchise history. But rather than just listing a bunch of players, we held a fantasy draft to construct our starting lineups — three forwards, two defensemen and one goalie.

You can hear the selection order and how the three lineups were constructed, but below shows how the results played out with the picks made by Kevin Durso, Rob Riches and Dan Heaning.

Dan Heaning

F: John LeClair-Eric Lindros-Tim Kerr
D: Mark Howe-Kimmo Timonen
G: Ron Hextall

Rob Riches

F: Bill Barber-Dave Poulin-Mark Recchi
D: Eric Desjardins-Joe Watson
G: Pelle Lindbergh

Kevin Durso

F: Brian Propp-Bobby Clarke-Reggie Leach
D: Jimmy Watson-Andre Dupont
G: Bernie Parent

Who put together the best lineup? Who was not selected that should have been? Listen to the podcast to hear our thoughts on these questions following our selections, and leave your thoughts in the comments as well.
