Following the 2013 season, we learned of the departure of two Phillies TV broadcasters, Chris Wheeler and Gary "Sarge" Matthews. Their replacements, Matt Stairs, Jamie Moyer, and Mike Schmidt, weren't met with the most positive of reviews, but many fans were ready to give the crew another year to gel. However, just a few months after the season concluded, Jamie Moyer announced his departure from the booth in an effort to spend more time with his family.

Since his announcement, very few rumors or whispers spread regarding Moyer's replacement. Today, though, Todd Zolecki reported that two main option remain for the vacancy.

Sources said this week the end of the search is near and the two finalists are CSN analyst Ben Davis and Pac-12 color commentator Kevin Stocker.

Each man has ties to the Phillies. Ben Davis has been an analyst for CSN Philadelphia for the last couple of seasons and was born in Chester, while Kevin Stocker played five of his eight major league seasons in Phillies pinstripes.

No timetable has been given for the hire, but Zolecki does go on the confirm Tom McCarthy, Matt Stairs, Gregg Murphy, Scott Franzke, Larry Andersen, and Jim Jackson all returning to their previous broadcasting roles.
