The Flyers have signed Coach Peter Laviolette to a two year contract extension, had this deal not been done this would have been his last year in Philadelphia. Due to this signing he will now be the Flyers head coach for the next three years.
Laviolette, since his hiring, has the third highest amount of wins in the eastern conference only behind the Caps and the Pens. He also has two back to back 47 win seasons under his belt with his last two seasons with the Flyers. Laviolette is happy to back with the Flyers for the next three seasons. Hopefully this is just the start of another run for the cup.
