So Close, But So Far Away. Sixers lose final game of OPSL

This was by far the 76ers best game in the Orlando Pro Summer League… and they still lost. The Sixers fell to the Magic this afternoon, 90-89, at the hand of star rookie, Victor Oladipo. Oladipo took Sixers' rookie, Michael Carter-Williams, one-on-one with the final seconds of the game dwindling down. With MCW in his face, Oladipo drained a long 2-pointer to give the Magic a 1 point advantage with 4 seconds left in the game. Khalif Wyatt missed a 3-pointer at the end of regulation, and the Sixers fell to 0-4 in this year's Orlando Summer League.

The good news for the Sixers is that Arnett Moultrie finally showed up to play. His play had been uninspiring in the first 3 games of the Summer League, but he exploded today for 23 points and 12 rebounds (8 offensive). Arsalan Kazemi hustled his way to 10 points with 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and a block. His Summer League performance may land him a spot on the Sixers' final roster. Syracuse product, James Southerland, had a nice day with 15 points in 21 minutes.

Michael Carter-Williams played a mediocre game today. He finished with 11 points (on 3-10 shooting) to go along with his 6 rebounds and 9 assists. However, he continued to struggle with turning the ball over, as he coughed it up 8 times in the game today. Who knows, if you cut out some of those turnovers, maybe the Sixers would have been the victor today.

The Sixers finish the Summer League as the 9th seed, so they will play 10th seeded Brooklyn Friday at 4 PM.
