The Eagles have announced “>nine official practice squad signings.
There was a set of three reported early on and another set of three announced a bit later.
The new additions are Greg Ward, who many people thought should have made the team and clearly outplayed Mack Hollins in the preseason, Joshua Perkins, who was a surprise cut as the team went with just five receivers, four running backs and only two tight ends, and Bruce Hector.
While neither Ward nor Perkins is surprising by themselves, it is surprising that the team has chosen to carry five pass catchers on their practice squad, though you could argue it’s actually four pass catchers and a return man.
The surprise signing is Bruce Hector, who the team traded for Rudy Ford a few weeks ago.
The Eagles kept Ford around on their 53-man roster and now get Hector back on the practice squad. A sure win for Howie Roseman.
The Eagles practice squad now stands at nine with the following players:
Quarterback: Kyle Lauletta
Running Back: Boston Scott
Tight Ends: Alex Ellis, Joshua Perkins
Wide Receivers: Marcus Green, Greg Ward Jr.
Offensive Lineman: Sue Opeta
Defensive Tackle: Bruce Hector
Linebacker: Alex Singleton
The team is also set to work out a special teams ace and safety, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network. He could be the final spot on the practice squad.

The squad is notably light on the defensive end with no defensive backs signed, so that could be a real possibility.
Meanwhile, the Eagles may choose to bring back Treyvon Hester at some point.
