The wrap-up on Flyers development camp is a pair of scrimmages that allow players to get competitive and showcase their skills against an opponent. On Friday evening, there was a 3-on-3 tournament that split the prospects into four teams. On Saturday evening, in the final on-ice event of camp, there was a 5-on-5 scrimmage.
On Friday, it was Team White that came away with the tournament victory. Team White and Team Black faced off in the championship game after going 2-1 in Round Robin play. Team White scored a 5-3 win over Team Orange and a 5-3 win over Team Gray while Team Black defeated Team White 4-2 and Team Orange 6-1.
Team Black opened up a 2-0 lead on goals by German Rubtsov and Wyatt Kalynuk. Wade Allison scored both goals in regulation for Team White, tying the game with an extra-attacker with just four seconds remaining. In the 2-on-2 overtime, Mason Millman scored the winning goal, beating Felix Sandstrom. The winning netminder for Team White was Samuel Ersson.
Team Orange took third place with a 5-3 win over Team Gray in the third-place game. Allison and Isaac Ratcliffe each had four goals in the tournament. Carson Briere, Colin Felix, Morgan Frost, Jack St. Ivany and Maksim Sushko each had three. Millman was one of eight players to score twice in the tournament. Sixteen players had one goal in the tournament.
The prospects were split into two teams for the 5-on-5 scrimmage on Saturday, Team Orange and Team White. The two teams skated for 60 minutes, playing two 30-minute periods.
In the first period, Will MacKinnon broke the ice with a goal with 16:26 remaining to put Team White on the board first. With 2:24 left in the period, Matthew Strome tied the game off a feed from Millman to even the score.
Team White reclaimed the lead, 2-1, with the Cates brothers teaming up. Noah Cates fed brother Jackson with 16:26 remaining in the second period. Team Orange tied the game again with 13:25 left in the game on a goal by Ratcliffe. With 7:35 to play, Team Orange went ahead for good, with Bobby Brink getting the eventual game-winning goal in the 3-2 win. Assists on Brink's goal went to Connor Bunnaman and Morgan Frost.
Team Orange goalies were Ersson and Kirill Ustimenko. Team White had Sandstrom and Roddy Ross in goal.
Following the scrimmage, the two teams participated in a full-squad shootout. Team Orange claimed victory there, 6-5. Millman, Frost, Strome, Sushko, Ben McCartney and Bryce Brodzinski scored for Team Orange, while Joel Farabee, Carsen Twarynski, David Kase, Pascal Laberge and Jackson Cates all scored for Team White.
