Report: Eagles add CFL’s Carson Walch to coaching staff

By Brandon Apter, Sports Talk Philly editor

The Eagles have seen two important coaches depart following their win in Super Bowl LII a little over a month ago. Frank Reich is now the head coach in Indianapolis while John DeFilippo is with the Vikings as their new offensive coordinator. The Eagles promoted wide receivers coach Mike Groh to offensive coordinator and now it looks like they'll be adding someone with a connection to him to the offensive staff.

According to Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Eagles have reached an agreement with a coordinator out of the Canadian Football League to be their assistant wide receivers coach. The plan is for the Eagles to hire a wide receivers coach as well.

Walch served on the Chicago Bears staff in offensive quality control/receivers during the 2013-14 season. Mike Groh was with the Bears as their wide receivers coach from 2013-15, so there's a good chance Groh had influence in the hiring of Walch.

For the past two seasons, Walch has served as the offensive coordinator/receivers for the Edmonton Eskimos of the CFL.
