Eagles ‘Color Rush’ Uniforms Will be Completely Black

By Kevin Durso, Sports Talk Philly editor

Twice last season, the Eagles held what they called "blackout" games, wearing their black uniforms on Sunday Night Football.

The all-black uniforms will return when the Eagles play on Thursday Night Football on Dec. 22 against the New York Giants.

In conjunction with the NFL's "Color Rush," where teams wear solid color uniforms on Thursday night games, the Eagles will wear all black and the visiting Giants will wear all white.

The Color Rush debuted during the 2015 season, as eight teams wore solid color uniforms on Thursday night games during the second half of the season. This season, all Thursday night games will feature the Color Rush uniforms.

The Eagles matchup comes in Week 16, so there is some time before the Color Rush jerseys will be on the field, but it won't be too far of a difference from their blackout games.

The Eagles wore all-black uniforms twice last season in their Week 6 game against the Giants, a 27-7 win. The Eagles also wore the all-black uniforms in Week 15 against the Arizona Cardinals, suffering a 40-17 loss. The season prior, the Eagles wore the all-black uniforms against the Giants and claimed a 27-0 win.
