Due to the injury to Ronald Darby and the expectation that the corner will miss a few weeks, the Eagles made a move on Sunday to ensure they would have a fourth corner on the active roster by re-signing corner Craig James from the practice squad to the 53-man roster.
To make room, receiver Greg Ward was waived as the return of Alshon Jeffery and Dallas Goedert should make an additional receiver less of a priority.
On Thursday, the carousel ride was completed once again as Greg Ward once again cleared waivers and re-signed to the Eagles practice squad.
This is just the Eagles third game, but the team has swapped out the trio of Alex Ellis, Craig James and Greg Ward nearly every week, with Ellis being waived by the team, signing to the practice squad and being promoted to the active roster twice, James signing to the practice squad and being promoted twice and Ward being waived and re-signing to the practice squad twice.
Despite all this, the team has barely used any of the three outside of special team, though Ellis has been a good blocker on some offensive plays.
