As the Philadelphia Phillies' (33-27) No. 3-ranked prospect Adam Haseley makes his big-league debut as the starting center fielder, batting eighth, the club will look to snap its season-worst five-game skid Tuesday evening in the second of a three-game set against Manny Machado and the San Diego Padres (31-29) at Petco Park.

Haseley's addition to the roster comes at an unfortunate cost, as he replaces Andrew McCutchen, ruled out for the season with a torn ACL. Left fielder Jay Bruce, who collected his first hit with the club in Monday's 8-2 loss, will also make his first Phillies start, batting sixth. Phillies RHP Jerad Eickhoff will oppose Padres rookie RHP Chris Paddack, who will make his sixth career home start.

According to Phillies Manager Gabe Kapler, Haseley will play regularly in center field, and Bruce in left field. Scott Kingery will play some center, but will play at the hot corner "most nights."

The Phillies have lost six of their last seven games at Petco Park since August 14, 2017, outscored 38-18 and outhit 57-47.
