Sam Bradford (concussion) back at practice for second day, status still unknown for Lions game

After being cleared to practice through the NFL's concussion protocol on Monday, Philadelphia Eagles starting quarterback Sam Bradford was back at practice for the second day in a row.

Per Phil Sheridan of ESPN, Bradford's status for a Thanksgiving Day matchup against the Detroit Lions on Thursday is still uncertain.

"Yesterday was a half-speed [practice], too, because we were just one day out from [Sunday's] game," Eagles offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur said in a press conference prior to Tuesday's practice. "It's really kind of up in the air."

Bradford was knocked out in the third quarter of a Week 10 game against the Miami Dolphins. The 28-year-old quarterback suffered a concussion and a Grade 2 separated left shoulder after being sacked by linebacker Chris McCain.

Shurmur said Bradford looked good throwing the ball in practice, but the team won't have an update on him because Tuesday was only a light workout.

Backup Mark Sanchez made his first start of the season in place of Bradford on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Sanchez and the rest of the Eagles had a forgetful performance. Sanchez led the team on a touchdown drive on the opening drive of the game, but he also had three interceptions, including a pick-six to Lavonte David. In less than six quarters of play this season, Sanchez has four interceptions.

"I thought Mark was up and down. We had a couple of good drives where we really kind of pushed the tempo and was accurate with his throws and probably a couple throws he'd probably want back." head coach Chip Kelly said in a conference call on Tuesday.

Running back Ryan Mathews, who also left the game against Miami in third quarter with a concussion, hasn't been cleared to practice yet. Tight end Zach Ertz, who suffered a concussion against the Bucs, isn't expected to play against the Lions.
