As if the Phillies weren't struggling enough this season, it looks like they'll be without one of their best offensive weapons for a little while. After injuring his hamstring on Friday night in Milwaukee, outfielder Aaron Altherr could find himself on the disabled list in the next 24 hours.
It appears Aaron Altherr will need to go on the DL. He could be replaced on the roster Monday by Cesar Hernandez.

With Altherr sidelined, expect Nick Williams to get the majority of reps in his place. This season for the Phillies, Altherr is hitting 288 with 20 doubles, three triples, 14 home runs and 44 RBIs. Williams, 23, is hitting .252 with two doubles and a home run in 12 games since his promotion from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on June 30.
Gelb points towards Cesar Hernandez replacing Altherr on the roster. The 27-year-old infielder has been out since June 11 with a left oblique strain. He's appeared in three games on a rehab assignment for Advanced 'A' Clearwater, going 0-for-6 with three walks, two strikeouts and a run scored.
Pete Mackanin also pointed towards a Vince Velasquez return this week, as early as Tuesday when the Phillies take on the Marlins. Velasquez hit the disabled list on May 31 with a right flexor strain. In three rehab starts, he's 0-1 with a 3.60 ERA, striking out nine and walking three.
