The Phillies pulled themselves together last night in the ninth to earn a 3-2 win against the Colorado Rockies. The first inning was not easy for Lee and the Phils, with the Rockies ahead 2-0 early on in the game.

The following six innings were uneventful, and the Phils finally started to show up in the Seventh. With two outs, Laynce Nix doubled bringing home Pierre and Orr to tie the game. In the ninth, the Phils brought in Papelbon who pitched a perfect inning, giving the fightin’s the chance they needed to come back against Colorado.Nate Schielrholtz sent a single to right field that sent Rollins home and won the game. 3-2 Phillies.

Tonight the Phillies hope to secure a series win with Hamels (3.04, 14-6) on the mound. Hamel’s has been having an excellent season, but the Phil’s are certainly expecting more from him in this start than he showed in his last out. He didn’t shine like the starter he is against the Braves, but still pitched well, allowing only three runs on six hits.

The rockies will counter with Tyler Chatwood (4.60). Since Chatwood has joined the Rockies starting rotation he has walked 18, and struck out 18 with a 4.60 ERA.

Every game is important as the season comes to a close, the Phillies sit seven games out of the Wild Card race and hopefully they can earn another series win tonight at CBP.
