Hamels hopes to help the Phils sweep the Braves this afternoon in Atlanta.

6a01348829760c970c016764fad8b4970b-800wiThe Phils were victorious yesterday in their second game of the series against the Braves, giving
Lee his fourth win of the season. He pitched a beautiful seven innings in which
he only allowed five hits, walking one and striking out five.

After the seventh, Lee was removed following up a report of
a tight Hamstring. Later, Lee said that it was nothing serious, and just a
cramp.

The bats were in full swing last night as John Mayberry started
it up in the first with an RBI single allowing Juan Pierre to score a run.

Later, in the third, J-roll had a solo bomber into right
field putting the Phils ahead 2-0.

The Phils remained on top the remainder of the game, with
the Braves only run from a solo Homer off the bat of Martin Prado.

This afternoon Hamels (14-6, 2.99 ERA) is on the mound,
trying to sweep the Braves AND match his single season high in wins at
Philadelphia (15). Hamels is going on nine days of rest, and has won his three
last starts with a 3-1-1.86 ERA in August. He is a force to be reckoned with.

The Braves will counter with Paul Maholm (11-9, 3.44 ERA) who has lost
his last two outings. He will attempt to save his team from a sweep in this
three game series.

Today’s game shows a great matchup, The Phillies have been on fire, and
so has Hamels, however the Braves have one more than half (9-14) of their
meetings with the Fightin’s this season. I
