Nick Foles and the Eagles defense comes up big once again as the Eagles win in Washington beating the Redskins, 24-0. For the third week in a row, the Eagles were in a do or die situation coming in to today’s game. At the start of the game, it looked to be a defensive stalemate between the two teams as neither offense could manage much. It would not be until the end of the first quarter that Jake Elliot would open the scoring.

The second quarter would would once again be a quiet quarter. It would take a 19-play drive for the Eagles to finally find the end-zone as Nick Foles would find Alshon Jeffery to kick start the Eagles offense. That play would lead the Eagles into halftime. During halftime, Eagles fans were checking in on another important game as this weeks second most popular team in Philadelphia, the Chicago Bears, took on the Minnesota Vikings. The Eagles needed a Bears win to continue their dreams of a repeat. As of halftime, the Bears were in the lead, 13-3.  As the third quarter played out, both players and fans of the Eagles would be keeping a close eye on that score as they were Tucker Bagley’s half time X-Factor.

The Eagles would have to continue to do their thing in the third quarter and with a little bit of luck they did exactly that. Late in the third quarter Nelson Agholor and a little bit of luck would make this game just a little bit more comfortable for the Eagles. In the fourth, the Eagles would suffer a scare. but it would not be on the scoreboard. The scare would come as Nick Foles was sacked by Ryan Kerrigan. After the injury, Nate Sudfeld would come in and try to ease the nerves of the Eagles with his first career touchdown pass. Fans would start to scoreboard watch more and more at that time.

The Eagles were led by Nick Foles and the defense as Foles would manage to not only give us a lead from the start, but hold onto the ball for over 43 minutes. Time of possession became key as the 16 minutes and 41 seconds the defense was forced to play kept them fresh, and they dominated nearly the whole game, holding the Redskins to only 89 total yards.
